How to Get Bad Omen?
The effect appears when you kill a raid captain—a mob with a banner on its back. Captains can be found in:
Pillager patrols (usually spawn in biomes with villages).
Raid groups (if a village is already under attack).
After killing the captain, you will receive the Bad Omen effect.
How to Remove Bad Omen?
There are three ways to get rid of the effect:
Die—the effect will disappear upon respawn.
Drink milk—any bucket of milk will work (right-click while holding it).
Win a raid—after defeating all attack waves, the effect will disappear automatically.
What Happens if You Enter a Village with Bad Omen?
If a player with the effect enters a village (within its boundaries), a raid will start—a series of attacks where you must protect villagers.
The raid lasts 3–7 waves (depending on difficulty).
Winning grants the "Hero of the Village" effect, providing discounts from traders.
If you lose, all villagers will die.
Bad Omen in Different Versions
Java Edition: The effect applies only to the player who killed the captain.
Bedrock Edition (consoles, mobile): If a player with Bad Omen is in a group, the effect spreads to all members.
Tips for Using Bad Omen
Prepare for a raid: Wear armor, bring healing potions, and a bow.
Farm rewards: Villagers give discounts after a raid.
Important! Do not enter a village with Bad Omen unless you are ready for battle.
Now you know how to control Bad Omen and turn it from a threat into a useful tool for leveling up!
