Turtles live on sandy beaches. They always remember the beach where they were born and return there to lay eggs. Although they may swim far into the ocean, their home beach remains an important place for them.
What to Feed Turtles
Turtles can be bred by feeding them seagrass. This resource can only be obtained using shears underwater.
Breeding Turtles
1. Find two turtles and feed them seagrass.
2. One of the turtles will become pregnant and return to its home beach.
3. It will lay one to four eggs only on the sand.
4. Over time, eggs will begin to crack, going through three growth stages before hatching into baby turtles.
How to Speed Up Turtle Growth
Baby turtles – are the smallest mobs in the game. Their growth can be accelerated by feeding them seagrass. When they grow up, they drop a scute.
Turtle Shell and Turtle Master Potion
By collecting five scutes, you can craft a turtle shell. This item:
- Grants ten seconds of water breathing when submerged
- Provides protection equal to an iron helmet
- Used to craft the Turtle Master Potion, which gives resistance and slowness
