Preparation

Make sugar from sugar cane (1 sugar cane = 1 sugar). Blaze powder is only needed to fuel the brewing stand.

Any brewed potion of swiftness can be converted into splash and area-of-effect versions:

• Gunpowder turns the potion into a splash potion. It is thrown, the effect applies to everyone within the splash radius, and the duration is reduced by about a quarter.

• Dragon's Breath in a splash potion yields a lingering potion — it leaves a cloud that applies swiftness to anyone standing in it.

How the Effect Behaves

The effect speeds up movement on land and in water. It does not affect elytra flight. It can be removed with milk.

The acceleration from the potion stacks with other movement sources — sugar in brewing remains the same ingredient, but in movement, speed adds up, for example, with sprinting.
