Immersive Aircraft adds seven vanilla-style flying machines to Minecraft: airships, a biplane, a gyrocopter, a quadcopter, a warship, and a bamboo hopper. All aircraft are implemented as separate entities with their own inventory, fuel system, and slots for upgrades and weapons. The mod allows for fast long-distance travel without teleports or portals — especially useful in survival with difficult terrain.
Aircraft
Each machine has its own handling profile, number of seats, and available slots. They are assembled from component items on a crafting table, then placed in the world (requires free space on the ground).
Biplane
A fast single-seat aircraft. High cruising speed, sensitive controls, requires a long runway to take off. Medium difficulty to master.
Airship
A two-seat machine with an engine in the tail section. Maneuverable but slow. The easiest to control in the entire modpack — suitable as a first aircraft.
Cargo Airship
A version of the airship with expanded storage. Slower and consumes more fuel, but can carry a large volume of items. Convenient for transporting resources between bases.
Gyrocopter
A two-seat muscle-powered helicopter. It doesn't have a fuel engine — the player spins the rotor. A readiness percentage prompt appears before takeoff. When the rotor reaches maximum power, a ready-to-take-off message is displayed.
Quadcopter
A four-rotor machine with a bamboo hull. Precise hovering in place makes it convenient for building — you can fly horizontally at the desired height without falling.
Warship
A four-seat flying dreadnought with a copper-steel hull. Features six weapon mounts and a rotatable turret. The slowest and most expensive transport to craft in the mod.
Bamboo Hopper
A three-seat machine with pontoons — can safely land on water. Works as an amphibian.

Assembly Components
For crafting flying machines, the mod adds separate components: hull, engine, sail, propeller, and boiler. In the basic tier, components are made from wood, iron, and leather.

Slots, Upgrades, and Weapons
The interface of each aircraft is different and contains several types of slots: for fuel, for weapons, for a banner and dye, and several slots for upgrades. Also inside is an inventory for storing items — it is expanded in the cargo airship and warship.
Upgrades are separate items that change the characteristics of machines by a percentage. Base effects:
Upgrade | What it changes |
Enhanced Propeller | Reduces air resistance |
Eco Engine | Reduces engine power but also fuel consumption |
Nether Engine | Increases engine power, also increases fuel demand |
Steel Boiler | Increases engine power and fuel demand |
Industrial Gears | Reduces fuel demand |
Sturdy Pipes | Increases engine power |
Gyroscope | Adds stabilization and reduces wind effect |
Golden Gyroscope | Reduces wind effect, adds an electronic panel, increases stabilization |
Advanced Gyroscope | Increases stabilization, adds a mechanical control panel, reduces wind effect |
Hull Reinforcement | Increases durability |
Upgraded Landing Gear | Increases takeoff speed |

Weapons are mounted in a separate slot: rotary cannon (fires gunpowder, fast fire rate), bomb bay (drops TNT — by default without block destruction), heavy crossbow (fires arrows, armor-piercing), telescope (increases vision).

Fuel, Controls, and Repair
By default, blaze powder serves as fuel for engine-powered vehicles (1 unit = 1200 ticks of operation). The acceptVanillaFuel parameter defaults to true — which means any furnace fuel (coal, wood, a lava bucket) will also work with the corresponding burn time. The gyrocopter does not need fuel — it is propelled by the player.
Controls use their own multi-key system: forward / backward / left / right / up / down, separate Pull Controller and Push Controller buttons (thrust), Use weapon/mount to shoot, Dismount to exit, and Rocket boost for the booster. You can bind keys in the Options → Controls menu.
Repair is done by clicking the damaged machine with the item the component is made of. Upon complete destruction, the vehicle explodes, but it doesn't kill the player — protection is enabled by default. Colliding with blocks at speed deals damage: a multiplier of 40 by default. At maximum biplane speed, a head-on impact into a cliff almost always destroys the aircraft.
Config
The file is located at config/. Below are the key parameters.
Parameter | What it does |
| fuel consumption multiplier. 2.0 — twice as much consumption, 0.5 — half as much |
| accept vanilla furnace fuel. |
| additional fuel and burn time in ticks |
| crosswind strength during rain and thunderstorms (1.0 — same as clear weather) |
| explosion upon aircraft destruction |
| whether the explosion destroys surrounding blocks |
| protection from death at the moment of crashing (the player survives with 1 HP) |
| how much damage is needed to remove 1 HP from the aircraft. Higher = sturdier |
| automatic repair. 0 — disabled, 10 — +10% HP every second |
| in which dimensions flying is allowed |
| whether weapons destroy blocks. |
| upon destruction, inventory contents drop separately |
| item → entity that the bomb bay drops |
Conclusion
Immersive Aircraft adds air transport to Minecraft with a clear balance: speed depends on the type of aircraft, and crafting complexity is proportional to its capabilities. It is suitable for survival on large maps, exploration projects, and vanilla+ style modpacks where air transport is needed without transitioning to industrial mods.
Installation
A typical installation takes about 5 minutes. The flow is the same; only the loader and the matching build differ.
