Enchanting Infuser replaces random enchanting with two blocks where you buy specific enchantments for experience levels. Guide to crafting, config and compatibility.
Dependencies:
Loader: Forge, NeoForge, Fabric, Quilt
Minecraft version: 1.16.5 - 26.1
Mod version: 8.0.2
Additional libraries: Puzzles Lib, Forge Config API Port (for Fabric/Quilt)
The vanilla enchanting system relies on a random number generator, where the outcome of using the table is always partially hidden. Enchanting Infuser introduces alternative blocks for applying enchantments, where you buy specific effects with experience levels. Instead of randomness, the system generates the full list of available enchantments for the placed item. The mechanic of placing standard bookshelves around the block is still used to unlock the maximum effect levels.
Infuser blocks
The mod adds two new blocks with different levels of access to magical manipulation. Treasure enchantments such as Mending or Soul Speed are hidden by default in both blocks — this is a balancing limitation of the mod.
The interface of both infusers includes a search bar for quickly finding the desired effect, along with visual indicators that highlight enchantments in green or red depending on the number of experience levels you have.
Basic Infuser
An entry-level block that works exclusively with clean, unenchanted items. It is crafted using amethyst crystals, obsidian and an enchanting table. The interface displays all possible effects for the selected piece of equipment. The cost of applying enchantments is calculated according to the strength of the chosen effect. If the corresponding option is enabled in the configuration, the basic block also lets you enchant ordinary books.
Advanced Infuser
A late-game block that requires a Nether Star to craft. It is designed to work with already enchanted tools, weapons and armor, and performs four separate functions:
Equipment modification: applying additional enchantments on top of existing ones.
Level upgrades: raising the level of an existing effect (for example, from Unbreaking II to Unbreaking III).
Repair for experience: restoring the durability of damaged items at the cost of experience levels. This mechanic completely ignores the vanilla anvil penalty (\"Too Expensive!\"), allowing you to repair tools indefinitely.
Partial experience refund: removing enchantments from an item, similar to the Grindstone, but returning part of the levels spent on them back into the player's bar.
All operations in the Advanced Infuser have a significantly reduced cost in experience levels compared to the basic block.

Mod configuration
The mod has a split settings system. If helper mods are present (Mod Menu for Fabric or Forge Config Screens), the parameters can be edited directly in-game. The enchantinginfuser-client.toml and enchantinginfuser-server.toml files are located in the config directory.
Server settings (server/common)
Key | Value | Description |
| Integer | Defines the base cost of enchantments in experience levels. |
| 15–30 | The maximum number of bookshelves that affect the strength of effects. |
| true/false | Enables the ability to create enchanted books in the basic block. |

Managing the enchantment list through datapacks
Starting with the versions for Minecraft 1.21.1, the availability of enchantments in the interface is controlled by a tag system. The mod uses two main tags for filtering:
enchantinginfuser:in_enchanting_infuserenchantinginfuser:in_advanced_enchanting_infuserTo add treasure enchantments to the table interface, you need to activate the datapack built into the mod, which automatically adds these effects to the corresponding tags.
Compatibility
Apotheosis: Full integration. The infusers recognize non-standard bookshelves from Apotheosis and correctly scale the cost of new enchantment levels (for example, Sharpness VI and above). The Eterna, Quanta and Arcana stats are also partially taken into account when generating requirements.
Enchantment Descriptions: The mod pulls in effect descriptions. When you hover the cursor over an enchantment in the infuser interface, a window appears with a detailed explanation of the chosen effect's mechanics.
Depending on the loader (Fabric/Quilt), the mod strictly requires the Puzzles Lib library to be installed. The server or client will instantly crash if this file is missing from the mods folder
Conclusion
Enchanting Infuser definitively solves the problem of wasting time resetting the enchanting table for the perfect set of effects. The repair-for-experience mechanic makes the mod a powerful tool for the late game, neutralizing the vanilla anvil limitation. The mod's drawback is its reliance on configs and datapacks to display treasure enchantments in newer versions. Compared to its counterpart Easy Magic, which only adds saving items in the table and the ability to reroll, Enchanting Infuser completely removes the randomness factor. The mod is ideal for technical servers, RPG modpacks and long-term survival, where control over resources and predictability of the result are a priority.
Installation
A typical installation takes about 5 minutes. The flow is the same; only the loader and the matching build differ.
